People are always nostalgic for the past. Bygone days seem to grow more attractive as time passes, which is pretty much the only feasible explanation for Spiceworld: The Exhibition. The exhibition is being put on at the Leeds City Museum. Scary Spice, or Mel B, hails from Leeds and is a celebrated hometown hero. But have no fear, Baby, Sporty, Posh, and Ginger will all be well represented. So get out your giant Union Jack platform shoes and Spice Up Your Life with a visit to the Leeds City Museum.
The Spice Girls only had three studio albums not including their Greatest Hits, but their record sales were astronomical. Their first album Spice went seven times platinum in the US alone and ten times platinum in the UK. Their follow up record Spiceworld was accompanied by a feature film of the same name and sold over twenty million copies worldwide. Tragically, the Spice Girls disbanded in 2000, but they would reignite Spice fever once again with their reunion tour in 2007.
Regardless of how you feel about the Spice Girls, they represent a moment in time for most of us that was good silly fun. Relive the past and stop by the Leeds City Museum. The exhibition is on until July 3rd. If you Wannabe the Spice Girls’ number one fan it is definitely the place to be.
