Americans have a special appreciation for the holiday that outsiders generally perceive as a bit over the top. There are however some good spots outside the U.S. to spend Halloween. Dublin is at the top of that list. The holiday’s roots are in the Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts were known to carve fearsome faces into gourds to fend off evil spirits. Historians speculate this is the origin of the Jack O’ lantern.

    The Haunted Bus tour in Dublin is REALLY cool and I will admit did leave me feeling a bit spooked!Of course it was nothing a pint of the black stuff couldn’t cure!
