The statue is of the late James Larkin who founded the Labor party in Ireland! The shiny spike in the background is the Spire of Dublin, and as I lived in this great city for a while, both are worth a look while shopping on O'Connell street! Fancy a pint? Head to the Oval pub on Middle Abbey Street, or Pravda is also a quiet place for a drink( in the afternoon at least) and just a block away from the O'Connell street bridge!
