The McLouvre
Posted by Hans Ericsson | Under Current Traveling News Tuesday Oct 6, 2009Somewhere, there is a flock of flying pigs soaring majestically through the streets of Paris, as it has been announced that one of the world’s most famous museums will soon be selling Happy Meals. Yes, the Louvre has announced plans to open up a McDonald’s franchise. I for one, find this not only appalling, but against everything that real art stands for. Maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh. I’m sure they will make uncanny amounts of money after all, perhaps some of it will trickle down into a French charity that feeds homeless artists. Read the full story here.
What are your thoughts on this? Would you eat at the McLourve during your next vacation in Paris?

Yo I’d get me Royale with cheese and some frog legs and some french fries and then I’d dip those mugs in some mayo-naise son. And then I’d creep up on that Venus De Milo all sly son and be like yo what up girl you wanna share these french fries with me?? Gyeah that’ll be the sheezy son.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THE FRENCH WOULD EVEN THINK OF ALLOWING THIS TO PROCEED! I GUESS MONEY REALLY IS THE ONLY THING PEOPLE CAR ABOUT ANYMORE….SOMEONE GET ME A TIME MACHINE AND TRANSPORT ME BACK IN TIME LIKE 300 YEARS!
I think it’s a great idea. I remember walking around the Lourve all day and trying to find a bite to eat in the place that didn’t cost €30 Euros a sandwich and took my credit card. Now I can fuel up on frite sauce and then get back to checking out some Napolean era artifacts which are as pimp as they come.
So this is wee bit old at this point but apparently the French, for the most part don’t realy see this as a big deal? perhaps my tirade earlier was a bit over dramatic…that said…McDonalds is an awful chain with awful food and awful basically everything…thousands of acres of Amzaon rainforest destroyed for Big Macs…pretty sad…
