Today, as I gazed out onto a dreary overcast ocean, I imagined sunlight on my face. Pretending the water was 40 degrees warmer and bright blue, I walked along the sandy beach and until I looked up and saw the beautiful city of Malaga, Spain! One thing I like about Malaga is that has the warmest winter of all of Europe! That combined with world class dining, art and culture make Malaga one of the most exciting travel destinations one can visit! Where would you like to be on your next vacation?

Welcome to the first instalment of “I’d Rather Be In…” I’m hoping to stay positive this winter by telling you about locations to dream about on cold icy mornings. I had to start my car early this morning to get the frost to melt off. I’d rather be in BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA.
Years ago, Brisbane was a less than desirable place to visit, however now it is my number one Australian city to visit. The city has been growing at an impressive rate for years, and is now a hotbed for culture, music, and a laid back outdoor lifestyle.
The city is filled with fun things to do! During the day, it’s easy to rent a bike and cruise through the City Botanic Gardens for a scenic adventure. You can see even more by renting a small boat and cruising up and down the river. Cool off by taking a swim in one if the many lagoons of the Paul Breka Beach. For dinner the city is packed with some incredible restaurants. After eating, check out some of the night clubs in the city. They stay open late and are a hot bed of social activity!
History and museum buffs will love the dinosaurs in Queensland Museum and the artwork in the Queensland Art Gallery. Both are located near the Queensland Cultural Center on South Bank. The Queensland Performing Arts Center is a great place to see some live music or shows.
If you’re still seeking more adventure, look into renting a sea kayak and exploring the ocean. There are some truly inspiring beaches that will leave you top- er, I mean breathless! Thinking about travel to Australia? A Vacation in Brisbane may be just the escape you need!
