When I first heard about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, I was pretty excited. When I say pretty excited, I mean I asked my soon-to-be wife if we could spend our honeymoon there. That was quickly vetoed. While I still plan to get down there at some point, I now have a new obsession. Warner Bros. has been saying for a while now that they are going to take the sets in the UK and turn them into a museum/attraction when filming on the final Harry Potter movie wraps up and now the official announcement has been made.
The attraction will be called the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, even though it’s not in London. Small matter: it’s a twenty minute drive from London, in Leavesden. This is where the majority of the sets for all eight movies are kept and it is still a working studio. So far only two sets have been announced as being open to the public and they are…. drum roll please… the Great Hall and Dumbledore’s office. I don’t know about you, but if I can pull up a bench in the Great Hall and chow down on a turkey leg and some Butter Beer, they might have trouble getting me out of there. As they are billing it as a museum experience, this is pretty unlikely, but here’s to hoping!
